August 2026 Primary Results — Congratulations to Our Candidates

Strong performances across Vermont. Here's a quick summary of Tuesday's results and what it means for the general election.

We are proud to report that all four candidates endorsed by Vermont Democrats advanced out of Tuesday's primary. Special congratulations to Sarah Oberman (State House, District 7) who took 61% of the vote, and Marcus Rivera (State Senate) who ran unopposed and is now officially our nominee heading into November.

Our volunteer phone banking and canvassing operations made a real difference. Teams covered 1,840 households over the three-week GOTV push. Thank you to everyone who gave their time — this result is yours.

Fall Campaign Season — Volunteer Sign-Ups Now Open

We need every available volunteer for canvassing, phone banking, and visibility events through November 3rd.

The general election is 67 days away. We have an ambitious field plan that covers every town committee in the county. If you can give even one Saturday morning this fall, please sign up using the Shift Scheduling section of this portal — or reply below with your availability and we'll be in touch.

Priority dates: September 14, 21, 28 and October 5, 12, 19, 26. If you can only make one, make it October 26.

Updated Headquarters Hours — Starting September 1

VDP headquarters will expand open hours for the fall campaign season.

Starting September 1, VDP HQ will expand hours for the fall campaign season:

Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (by appointment for special events)

The space can accommodate 30 phone bankers at a time. Walk-ins welcome; please book shifts through the portal so we can ensure adequate supplies and staffing.
